The Broadview Police Department announces St. Patrick’s Day Impaired-driving enforcement results
Broadview, IL – The Broadview Police Department announced it made 23 traffic Stops and issued 17 citations during the St. Patrick’s Day enforcement period.
- 4 citations for speeding 15-20 mph over limit
- 6 citations for distracted driving
- 1 citation for disregarding a stop sign
- 1 citation for improper lane usage
- 1 citation for operating an uninsured vehicle
- 2 citations for improper window tinting
- 1 citation for improper display of registration
- 1 arrest/citation for driving while license suspended
“We strongly enforce traffic laws for one reason—to save lives,” said Commander Frank Cupello. “Whether it’s alcohol, cannabis, or another drug, impaired driving puts everyone at risk.”
The Broadview Police Department joined forces with state and local law enforcement and highway safety partners in the St. Patrick’s Day “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Drive High. Get a DUI” enforcement campaign.
The safety effort was funded by federal highway safety funds administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.
