Residential Waste
Residential waste pick-up day is on Friday’s - Village wide.
The Village of Broadview uses SBC Waste Solutions to collect your refuse and recycling. You can reach SBC Waste Solutions at 312-522-1115.
The Village of Broadview is proud of its community recycling efforts.
When preparing your waste please follow these guidelines:
- Each week you can place one 65 gallon can of household waste out. Plus an unlimited amount of recycling material.
- Additional cans or bags of household waste, plus all yard waste must have a sticker attached to the bag.
- Bags or containers must not exceed 60 pounds.
Refuse Stickers
Refuse Stickers cost $1.90 each, purchase them at the Village Hall located at 2350 S. 25th Avenue Broadview, IL 60155.
Attach refuse stickers to the item where they can be clearly seen from the street. Be sure to include the proper number of stickers to ensure pick-up.
Yard Waste
Yard waste is collected by SBC Waste Solutions from April 1st – November 30th. SBC Waste Solutions picks up grass, leaves and other yard waste separately from household garbage. Collected yard waste is taken to a composting facility for processing. To be collected, all grass clippings and other yard waste must be placed inside a biodegradable, 2 ply, moisture-resistant, Kraft paper yard waste bag. The weight of this bag when filled should not exceed 50 pounds.
Yard Waste Stickers
- Yard waste stickers must be purchased for $2.00 at Village Hall during regular business hours.
- Branch and brush pick up is provided by the Public Works Department weekly, beginning on the first Monday in April through the last Monday in October.
- Brush does not require a sticker.
Leaf Pick-Up
The leaf program begins approximately the last Monday of September each year. Each household will be given ten (10) biodegradable bags to put leaves in. Residents will be able to purchase additional bags as needed. You may also purchase bags at a place of your choice.
No Stickers will be required for leaf bags. Only leaves are to be placed in the bags - No branches or foreign obstacles.
Bags are to be put on the parkway for pickup by Village personnel. Raking leaves, grass clipping, and other debris into the street is prohibited by the city ordinances. Doing such may clog inlets and prevent the flow of storm water into the sewer system. Raking yard waste into the street will result in a fine from the Village (Refer to Ordinance – Chapter 2 – Section 8-2-8).
Acceptable Items
Yard waste consists of grass clippings, twigs, leaves, plant material, etc.
The leaf program ends November 30.
Prohibited items
Rocks, sod, bales of hay, and pumpkins are refuse and should not be places in yard waste bags.
Holiday Pick-Up
When your garbage pick-up day happens to fall on a legal holiday, pick-up for that week will be made one day later than your usual pick-up day. These are the legal holidays observed by SBC Waste Solutions: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
Large Item Collection
One large item may be set out on your normal pick-up week. More than one item set out on any particular week will require a special pick-up.
