Project Overview
The Villages of Broadview and Maywood are collaborating to enhance the Roosevelt Road corridor from 17th Avenue to 9th Avenue via streetscape improvements. Approximately 10 years ago, the Village of Broadview improved Roosevelt Road from 22nd Avenue to 17th Avenue with sidewalk “bump-outs”, planters, decorative street lighting with additional pedestrian lighting and other improvements.
Through funding obtained from an Invest in Cook grant, the Village will extend these improvements to the eastern Village Limit at 9th Avenue. A portion of this project falls within the Village of Maywood limits. Maywood has cosponsored this project and will improve Roosevelt Road within their limits to provide a cohesive corridor to better serve residents of both communities.
The Villages and their team are working to be “shovel ready” for construction in summer of 2027 pending regulatory approval and project funding. Currently this project is in Phase 1 which is reserved for obtaining necessary environmental clearances, preliminary design and public involvement.
This Public Informational Meeting is one of the final milestones of the Phase I Engineering process and necessary for IDOT approval of the Preliminary Design.
