Kris Murphy is the Administrative Assistant to the Fire Chief at Broadview Fire Department. Some of her responsibilities at the Broadview Fire Department include handling all aspects of EMS and Fire Suppression billing for our contracted hospitals (Loyola University, Madden Mental Health and Hines VA Hospital). Additionally, Kris is the first point of contact when entering the Department, she answers all incoming calls, manages accounts receivable and payables, and is responsible for the Department Payroll. She reports directly to the Fire Chief and assists with a variety of duties which include, monthly reports, taking minutes at department monthly meetings, assists in preparing the annual budget, hands on at all Camps held at the department & Village events, coordinates the Metropolitan Fire Chiefs annual events along with many other administrative duties that help with the day to day operations within the Fire Department. In addition, Kris was honored to be awarded the 2021 Fire Service Administrative Professional of The Year award and currently serves as the 2023/2024 President of The Illinois Fire Service Administrative Professionals organization.
